Welcome new UUP employees

UUP Upstate Medical University Chapter welcomes our newest members. In order for your union to serve you better, here are some things that we will need from you: Note: some of these action items may have already been completed at New Employee Orientation.

• A Non-Work (or non Upstate.edu) email address
  A personal (non-work) email address to send information to. Please send an email from your personal account to syracuse@uupmail.org to be included on special announcements of events and offers.
  
  
• Sign the UUP Membership Card
  Sign your membership card and mail it or drop it off at the chapter office. Signing your membership card gives you the benefit of participating in chapter elections, voting on issues and holding office. Also, for those thinking about retirement, it extends the vision and dental benefits.
  
  
• Sign up for the Benefit Trust Fund
  This benefit provides coverage for dental, vision and a tuition scholarship program for UUP members and agency fee payers and their children/dependents.
  
  
• Sign up for your Free Life Insurance Benefit
  Get $6000 of free life insurance coverage from First UNUM Life Insurance Co.
  
  
• Support Political Action by Giving to VOTE/COPE
  Your union dues cannot be used for politcal action. VOTE/COPE is the non-partisan political action fund of UUP. This fund helps to fund UUP/NYSUT endorsed candidates and support campagin committees.
