General Membership Meeting

The UUP Upstate Chapter General Membership Meeting will be at the Chapter office on March 14, 2012 and is open to all UUP members. We encourage UUP represented employees to come and vote on the operating budget -- members must be present to vote. RSVP by contacting the Chapter Office at (315) 422-5028.

LUNCH & LEARN SERIES

The next Lunch & Learn will be March 16th at 11:30 in room 2231 WSK. The topic for this session is "Elder Abuse" featuring a guest speaker. Please let us know if you plan to attend by contacting the Chapter office.

Work-Life Services Brochure

John C. Farruggio, Benefits Manager, has announced that the Governor's Office of Employee Relations (GOER) has just updated the Work-Life Services brochure.

Work-Life Services offers a multitude of programs such as Employee Assistance Program (EAP), NYS Balance, Worksite Child Care Centers, and Pre-Retirement Planning, that help thousands of NY state employees better balance their daily lives. These programs help connect employees with needed resources or save them money and time.

Health Care Conference in Albany

There is a conference scheduled for March 30-31 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany sponsored by NYSUT entitled "Professional Issues Forum on Health Care 2012". This may be a good opportunity for nurses to earn CEUs required for certification.
